Municipal Service Changes Under Ontario Stay-at-Home Order
Sioux Lookout, ON – In an effort to control the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the third wave, the Province of Ontario has implemented more restrictive lockdown measures. These measures will have an impact on your Municipal services until at least May 20th.

BURNING PERMITS FOR RESIDENTS OF SIOUX LOOKOUT, HUDSON, AND ALCONA
All residents burning brush and grass between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 are required to purchase an annual “Open Air Burning Permit” for $10.00.
All residents who have an incinerator must purchase an “Annual Incinerator Permit” for $10.00. This permit is valid for one year beginning April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

The Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) has released information about positive tests for COVID-19 variants of concern in the region.
All positive COVID-19 tests are currently screened for variants of concern, such as the UK variant.
The NWHU's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kit Young Hoon, emphasizes the need for individuals and their household members to self-isolate immediately when someone has a symptom of COVID-19. Variants of concern can spread incredibly fast.
