Sioux Lookout, ON – With 33.1% of eligible electors turning out to vote this year, the unofficial results are in!

Mayor Doug Lawrance will carry on for another term, after being acclaimed in August.

On Council, incumbents Joe Cassidy, Cory Lago, and Joyce Timpson have been re-elected and will be joined by newly elected Councillors Joan Cosco, Luc Beaulne, and Reece Van Breda.

Municipal Clerk, Brian P. MacKinnon, adds, “Official election results will be released later tomorrow. We would like to congratulate everyone who came forward to run in this year’s election and look forward to working closely with the new Council in the weeks and years ahead.”

The newly-elected Council will be sworn in at the next Regular Council meeting, Wednesday, November 16th, starting at 5:30 p.m.

All School Trustees were also acclaimed in August. They include:

  • Jim Kulchyski, English Separate - Northwest Catholic District School Board
  • Cathy Bowen, English Separate - Northwest Catholic District School Board
  • Steve Poling, English Public - Keewatin-Patricia District School Board
  • Anne-Marie Gélineault, French Public - Conseil Scolaire Public du Grand Nord de l'Ontario
  • Micheline Lovenuk, French Separate - Conseil Scolaire de District Catholique des Aurores Boréales
