Sioux Lookout Welcomes New Manager of Recreation and Culture

Sioux Lookout, ON – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is delighted to announce the hiring of Meredith Culham as the new Manager of Recreation and Culture.

Culham has been part of the community since 2009. She began her journey with the Municipality of Sioux Lookout in 2010 as a casual employee at the Recreation Centre’s front desk, transitioning to a full-time role in 2013. In 2015, Culham was promoted to Museum and Culture Supervisor, showcasing her ability to contribute to the department.

Winter Parking Restrictions in Effect

Winter Parking Restrictions and Bicycle Lane Safety

Winter parking restrictions are in effect annually, from November 1st until April 15th.

That means no parking is allowed in the Downtown Core between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The downtown core consists of Front Street from its intersection with Wellington St. easterly to Third Avenue, King Street from Seventh Avenue easterly to Third Avenue and encompassing avenues.

On all other Municipal streets and laneways, no parking is allowed between the hours of Midnight and 7:00 a.m.

The following is a summary of the proceedings of the Regular Council Meeting held November 15, 2023:
  • Mr. Peter Kirby and Mr. Doug Orchard from Compost Club in Kenora made a presentation to Council outlining why Sioux Lookout should complete a community composting feasibility study, implement a pilot project and move towards a community-wide compost project. Council directed staff to research funding opportunities and existing companies that may be interested in servicing the Municipality.
