Official 2022 Municipal Election Results

Sioux Lookout, ON – After careful review and verification, the results of yesterday’s Municipal election are now official!

There are no changes from the unofficial results released last night. Sioux Lookout will be led by Mayor Doug Lawrance for a third term. He will be joined by incumbent Councillors Joe Cassidy, Cory Lago, and Joyce Timpson plus newly-elected Councillors Joan Cosco, Luc Beaulne, and Reece Van Breda.

Sioux Lookout, ON – With 33.1% of eligible electors turning out to vote this year, the unofficial results are in!

Mayor Doug Lawrance will carry on for another term, after being acclaimed in August.

On Council, incumbents Joe Cassidy, Cory Lago, and Joyce Timpson have been re-elected and will be joined by newly elected Councillors Joan Cosco, Luc Beaulne, and Reece Van Breda.

Sioux Lookout, ON – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is pleased to have been named one of the 2022 recipients of the Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) Grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General. Fees to Increase at Hidden Lake Landfill

Sioux Lookout, ON – The landfill fees for waste disposal will be increasing for residents of Sioux Lookout.

“The landfill fee increase is based on the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) as reported in June each year by Statistics Canada,” explained Jeff Hawley, Manager of Public Works and Infrastructure. “The landfill does not receive any funding from your tax dollars, it is a user pay system.  This means the landfill fees charged must generate all of the money it needs to operate in a year.”
