The Corporation of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to complete rehabilitation, maintenance and remedial repairs for the Sioux Lookout Travel Information Centre Pedestrian Bridge located parallel to 1st Avenue (Highway 72) over Pelican Creek.

The work generally includes timber deck board replacement, approach repairs to remove tripping hazards, handrail and barrier repairs, cleaning of debris at ballast wall areas, and steel recoating. Proponents are asked to provide pricing for mandatory Base Work and separate pricing for alternative steel recoating methods. The Municipality may award the full scope, the Base Work only, or selected optional items based on available budget, received pricing, schedule, risk and overall value.

Proposals will only be accepted through the Biddingo.com procurement portal, until Thursday,  July 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CDT.

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout invites proposals from qualified and experienced traffic engineering, transportation planning, or municipal traffic services firms for a 3-phase project relating to the implementation of the Municipality’s new Traffic and Parking Control By-law and other traffic control-related services.

The Municipality intends to undertake this project subject to available funding and reserves the right to award all, part, or none of the work described herein.

The successful proponent will provide professional services related to:

1. The review, determination, supply, and installation of required traffic control signs in order to implement the new Traffic & Parking Control By-law No. 01-26 (attached);
2. Municipality-wide traffic sign compliance and retroreflectivity assessment;
3. Development of a sign inventory, sign inventory framework, and maintenance program.

The work shall comply with all applicable legislation, standards, and guidelines, including but not limited to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and applicable Ontario Traffic Manuals (OTM).

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout invites proposals from qualified and experienced traffic engineering, transportation planning, or municipal traffic services firms for a phased project relating to Pedestrian Crossovers (PXOs) in Sioux Lookout.

The Municipality intends to undertake this project subject to available funding and reserves the right to award all, part, or none of the work described herein.

The successful proponent will provide professional services related to:

1. Design and implementation of two new PXOs in the Municipality (see map attached);
2. Assessment all components of four existing PXOs to determine compliance with current legislation, regulations, standards, etc. (see map attached), and make recommendations to bring PXOs into full compliance, as required;
3. Assess and recommend whether a PXO is required on Fifth Avenue, near the Hugh Allen Clinic (see map attached). (Infrastructure for a PXO exists; however, it was never completed. An assessment is required to determine if it should be completed or if the infrastructure can be removed.)

The work shall comply with all applicable legislation, standards, and guidelines, including but not limited to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and applicable Ontario Traffic Manuals (OTM).
