Garbage and Recycling

To find out when your scheduled curbside garbage collection day is, and where your garbage should be left for pick-up, please download the Residential Collection Schedule PDF. Collection days are subject to change due to holidays, extreme weather events, or mechanical breakdowns. 

Please note that all regular residential garbage bags must be tagged and put out for collection by 8:00 a.m. on your scheduled garbage collection day.

Effective January 1, 2026, recycling will no longer have any involvement from the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.

For information on Canada's new recycling program, including changes to what materials will be accepted, please visit the Circular Materials website. 

Municipal staff will no longer be able to answer any questions related to recycling, pick-up schedules, or accepted materials.
