What is a Secondary Dwelling Unit?
A Secondary Dwelling Unit is a self-contained dwelling unit with a private kitchen, bathroom facilities and sleeping area(s). It can be located in your house or in an accessory building on your property.
Our Secondary Dwelling Unit guide contains guidelines on developing a Secondary Dwelling Unit in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.
All Secondary Dwelling Units must be developed in accordance with the Ontario Building Code Act. For more information, visit Add a Second Unit in Your House.
