The Municipality of Sioux Lookout advises residents that the pedestrian trail along Highway 72, near the MNR access road, will be temporarily closed during construction of the Highway 72 Water and Sanitary Sewer Servicing Extension.
The project involves the installation of approximately 330 metres of new watermain and sanitary forcemain using horizontal directional drilling, along with associated connections and site restoration.
The trail closure is expected to remain in place until the end of October 2026, depending on construction progress and site conditions.
For their safety, residents and trail users are asked to follow posted signage, respect construction barriers, and use alternative routes while the trail is closed.
The Municipality appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation while this important infrastructure work is underway.
