Sioux Lookout, ON – Big changes are coming to parking at the Sioux Lookout Municipal Airport this summer, as the parking lot expansion project gets set to begin on May 15th.
The lower parking lot, currently the long-term parking area, will be closed to guests throughout the construction process. The existing lot will be replaced with a two-level parking structure, adding much-needed parking space and easing the congestion experienced in recent years.
“We appreciate the patience patrons have had over the past two years with parking congestion at the airport,” explained Airport Manager, Ben Hancharuk. “This expanded parking structure will go a long way in alleviating the current congestion as well as setting the foundation for our future needs.”
An interim parking lot will be available to visitors during the lower lot closure and construction, which is expected to take about 5 months. A shuttle service from the interim parking lot to the airport terminal will be available throughout the disruption by calling 807-738-1850. Signage will be posted at the airport with instructions on accessing the service.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this disruption and look forward to the opening of the new parking structure later this fall.
