Sioux Lookout, ON – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout would like to advise the public that the Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre will be temporarily closed from June 22nd to July 31st, 2026.
This closure is required to address issues related to previously installed flooring. The original vendor will be returning to complete necessary repairs to ensure the facility meets the quality standards expected by the Municipality and the community. During this time, staff will also complete additional minor repairs and maintenance throughout the facility.
We understand that this closure may be inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience as we take the necessary steps to ensure the long-term functionality and safety of the Recreation Centre.
Membership Information
All active memberships will be automatically frozen during the closure period. Members will not lose any time, and their memberships will resume once the facility reopens.
Facility Access During Closure
While the facility will be closed for regular programming, it will remain open Monday to Friday from 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for:
- Program registration
- General inquiries
- Administrative services
Looking Ahead
Our goal is to complete this work efficiently and reopen the facility fully operational and ready to serve the community. Updates will be provided should timelines change.
