The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is upgrading the Pelican Park Lift Station over the next few months. These improvements are critical to increasing our system capacity and ensuring reliable wastewater services for both current and future development. Full restoration of streets and curbs are also included in the project's final stages.
To complete this work, there will be a number of temporary road closures and some water service disruptions from July 7th through November 28th. The affected areas include Fifth Avenue South, Ethel Street, and Pelican Lake Crossing.
These road closures will allow the Municipality to upgrade the Pelican Park Lift Station and install a new twinned submarine forcemain under Pelican Lake, along with associated water and sewer upgrades.
Intermittent road closures, lane reductions, and traffic disruptions are to be expected throughout the project duration in different phases, however, access to local businesses will be maintained wherever possible.
Residents are encouraged to follow signage and posted detours and to use caution when travelling through the construction zones.
