Help Shape the Future of Sioux Lookout

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is updating its Official Plan and wants to hear from you.

The Official Plan is a policy document that guides how land is used throughout the Municipality. It helps determine where development should occur, what services are needed, how the community will grow, and what improvements should be prioritized.

In Sioux Lookout, the Official Plan guides how our community grows, protects what matters, and plans for housing, services, transportation, jobs, waterfronts, and natural areas across Urban Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Drayton, rural areas, and shoreline communities.

Your input will help identify priorities for the next version of the Plan and ensure it reflects local needs, provincial planning requirements, and Sioux Lookout's role as the Hub of the North.

Key Themes for Public Input

The survey focuses on topics that will help shape Sioux Lookout's future, including:

  • Growth in Urban Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Drayton, rural areas, and shoreline communities
  • Housing choice and residential growth
  • Downtown and commercial areas
  • Tourism, rail, airport, and employment lands
  • Roads, sidewalks, trails, snowmobile connections, and accessibility
  • Lakes, wetlands, fish habitat, and lake trout lakes
  • Wildland fire, flooding, and climate resilience
  • Public and Indigenous engagement

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and you may skip any question and answer only the topics that matter most to you.
