Public Notice
The following is a summary of the proceedings of the Regular Council Meeting held October 15, 2025:
- Council passed By-law No. 66-25, Being a By-law to Authorize the Mayor and the Treasurer to Execute a Contract Between The Corporation of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout and Doane Grant Thornton LLP for the Provision of Auditing Services for Fiscal Years 2026 through 2030.
- Purpose: To appoint an auditor as required under the Municipal Act, Section 296(1).
- Council supported an outside resolution from The City of Dryden, seeking the Provincial government to incorporate water safety and Swim-to-Survive training into the regular elementary school curriculum.
- Council supported an outside resolution from Kenora District Municipal Association (KDMA), which calls on the Provincial and Federal governments to address the critical challenges with Immigration Worker Programs in Northwestern Ontario.
