Council Brief

The following is a summary of the proceedings of the Regular Council Meeting held October 19, 2022:

  • Council passed By-law No. 45-22, Being a By-law to Adopt the Policy Nos. 3-11 (Clothing), and 3-58 (Attendance Management Program).
  • Council received the FoodCycler Pilot Program Report for information purposes and directed staff to further investigate including a municipally subsidized FoodCycler pilot program as a budget item for the 2023 fiscal year.
  • Council approved the application made under Section 357 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, in the amount $48,580.18.
  • Council authorized By-law No. 64-22, Being a By-law to Appoint a Deputy Treasurer (T. Rowsell).
  • Council received the Treasurer’s Report outlining the cost increase totaling $167,500 to the Bigwood Lake Service Extension Project and how the cost will impact long-term debt.
  • Council passed By-law No. 55-22, Being a By-law to Execute an Agreement with JAMB Developments Inc. for the Equal Cost Sharing of the Reconstruction of the Sturgeon River Boat Launch Road and to Rescind By-law No. 44-22.
  • Council approved Schedule “A” to By-law No. 98-18, (Being a By-law to Make Appointments to Various Boards, Commissions and Committees) by deleting Yoko Schreiber and Trisha Frempong from the Sioux Lookout Environment Committee. Council thanked the volunteers for their service on the Committee.
