The Sioux Lookout Municipal Accommodation Tax Committee:
Community Appointee Required

Would you like to help steer the future of tourism in Sioux Lookout and influence the funding of local tourism projects? Here is your chance!

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is set to appoint a Committee to determine which tourism-related projects to fund with the 50% of the Municipal Accommodation Tax that is collected annually. The Municipality is required, by law, to spend 50% of the funds collected on projects that promote tourism.

Members of this Committee will review all applications for funding and make decisions on which projects will receive funding.

The Committee will consist of the following representatives: one Local Accommodator; one Lodge/Outfitter; one Member of the Sioux Lookout Chamber of Commerce Executive; one Municipal Staff Member; and

  • one Citizen Appointee, not a member of the other groups
