Register now for Summer Camp!

Summer Camp for ages 5 to 13 runs from June 27th to August 19th, with space for 30 kids per week.

They'll enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, games, arts and crafts, hiking, field trips, and more!

Daily rates start at $40.00, weekly rates from $115.00 per child.

Before and after child care and lunch options are available.

Youth Summer Sports Registration Poster

Register for Youth Summer Sports now!

It's time to register for the 2022 Youth Summer Sports leagues - soccer, baseball, and volleyball - for ages 3 to 13.

The cost is $50 per child, or free if a parent volunteers to coach! Deadline to register is Wednesday, May 25th at Noon.

The season runs from May 30th to July 8th.

Download your registration forms, fill them in, and drop them off with payment at the front desk of the Recreation Centre.

Ball Diamonds

Baseball Diamonds

The Municipality has, effective May 22, 2020, made baseball diamonds available for use, but with certain restrictions:

  • Physical Distancing: everyone must maintain minimum of 6' (2 metres) of separation at all times, including in the dugouts, unless everyone is from the same family
  • Maximum of five (5) users at any given time
  • Baseball Games are not permitted; for recreational use only (e.g., batting practice, catching practice)
  • Use of this facility is PROHIBITED if you are ill or otherwise displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

Baseball Diamonds and the Concession are available for Tournaments or Special events. *Prices vary based on Tournament schedule.

Bocce and Tennis Courts

The Municipality has, effective May 22, 2020, made the following outdoor spaces available for use, but with certain restrictions:

  • Physical Distancing: everyone must maintain a minimum of 6' (2 metres) of separation at all times, unless everyone is from the same family
  • Maximum of five (5) users at any given time
  • Town-on-Two games are permitted, providing only one court in in use at any given time, and physical distancing rules are followed. Additional players may participate and the other court may be used, IF all individuals are form the same household
  • Use of this facility is PROHIBITED if you are ill or otherwise displaying COVID-19 symptoms

Cedar Bay Recreation Complex

Cedar Bay Sign

A picturesque location nestled in the corner of Sioux Lookout where you will reconnect with nature with our rustic cabins, various trails and an equestrian facility run by users and volunteers.

Take a horse drawn wagon or sleigh ride during local community events. Open for boarding of horses and riding lessons.

Cedar Bay Cabin Details:

Chalet: Mainly for groups overnight sleeping accommodations, sleeps 20 people, includes a wood stove, firewood, cooking stove, Fridge, Table, chairs and couches.

Lodge: Used for special events, meetings, conferences. Includes chairs, tables, benches, wood stove, microwave, fridge, water jug, space heater.

Cabin #1: Sleeps 8, includes stove and wood

Cozy Cabin: includes tables, chairs, dishes, couch, board games and a wood stove.

Register for Programs

The Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre, has now re-opened with COVID-19 precautionary rules and guidelines implemented to keep staff and patrons safe when visiting or using the facilities.


The Recreation and Culture Department understands the importance of staying active, promoting a healthy lifestyle and providing services and programs to the public. We strive to offer a wide range of activities and programs for all ages at the Recreation Centre and Arena.

Child/Youth Programs

The Recreation & Culture Department feels strongly about keeping our children and youth stimulated through physical activity. We offer a variety of programs and activities for children of all ages and interests. 

  • Cedar Bay Summer Camp
  • Gymnastics (offered by the Sioux Lookout Gymnastics Club)
  • Minor Hockey (offered by the Sioux Lookout Minor Hockey Association)
  • Minor Baseball
  • Minor Soccer
  • Figure Skating Club (offered by the Sioux Lookout Skating Club)

We also provide First Aid Certification and Babysitting courses periodically; call 807-737-1994 to find out when our next session will be offered.
