Sioux Lookout, ON – The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Sioux Lookout! The results are in for the Light Up Sioux Lookout Christmas decorating contest.

In first place was Bill and Donna Makahnouk on Drayton Road.
Second place went to Dale Oakley on Forth Street in Hudson.
Rounding out the top three was Cec Oakley on Bernier Crescent in Hudson.

Sioux Lookout, ON – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has been receiving an increase in the number of comments and complaints about recycling pickup in recent weeks.

The rules for what items can be put in your Blue Box, the containers B&M Delivery will accept recyclable items in, and how cardboard is bundled for pickup have not changed, but are being more strictly enforced.

Update on Childcare Transfer in Sioux Lookout

Sioux Lookout, ON – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout wishes to update the public on the transfer of Municipal childcare services, as provided through the Biidaaban and Sioux Mountain childcare centres, to the Kenora District Services Board (“KDSB”).

As announced on September 17, 2021, the Municipality informed the public that it had entered into a “Transfer Agreement” with the KDSB wherein the KDSB would assume responsibility for the two Municipally-run Child Care centres on January 1, 2022.

Treaties Recognition Week in Sioux Lookout

Sioux Lookout, ON – It is Treaties Recognition Week in Ontario, a week where we are all encouraged to learn about the Treaties in place across our region – and across Canada.
