Train Station Revitalization
Revitalization of our downtown core is underway with the central point of the project for urban Sioux Lookout being the restoration and renovation of our Historic Train Station and ancillary Centennial Park. The new building will house a depot for VIA Rail, as well as a number of retail businesses. The goal of the project is to ensure this public space is used not only by visitors to our community, but also for local residents.
The Economic Development Commission has hired the landscape architect firm of Hilderman Thomas Frank Cram to provide predesign work for the many areas identified in our Community Revitalization Project.
