Strategic Pillar No. 1: Community Development - To promote social development and offer an attractive quality of life in an inclusive and sustainable manner
- Create an inventory of sidewalks and available transportation with Seniors' needs in mind to address accessibility (walkability and transportation)
- Conduct a Community Housing Needs Study to look at the housing needs in the community in regards to Affordable Housing, Assisted Living and Long-term Care needs
Strategic Pillar No. 2: Investment Attraction - To foster sustainable economic growth by creating conditions conductive to growing and attracting organizations, businesses, and industries
- Complete a feasibility study on the Bigwood Lake property for investment development
- Bring to design phase an Airport Terminal Expansion plan
- Review of the Cash-in-Lieu of Parking By-Law
- Complete a Community Improvement Plan with input from the public and approval of Council
- Review options for Alcona Drive between First Avenue and Highway 516 including market analysis of business growth opportunities, purchase of the land from CNR, funding opportunities for sewer and water infrastructure extension
- Complete a development options and constraints plan for Hillcrest Drive property
- Review and report to Council on the history of the Hudson and Boat Bay residential developments with potential costs and cost analysis
- Development and marketing of surplus lands at Fifth Avenue South, Museum property, Sturgeon River Road and Wellington Street properties
Strategic Pillar No. 3: Customer Service Delivery - To establish a customer service delivery focus - establish a continuous learning environment, strengths in our communications and collaborative relationships
- Identify and plan for priorities for both existing and development infrastructure, create a comprehensive infrastructure renewal plan
- Continuation of Asset Management Program and undertake a facilities audit
- Identify shovel ready projects to ensure plans are in place when funding becomes available
- Prepare and deliver a Waste Management Strategy and Plan
- Develop and implement specific policies around Waste Management
