Municipality of Sioux Lookout

The Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre is located at 85 King Street in Sioux Lookout. Our facility boasts an arena, lobby with concession, meeting rooms, main office of the Culture, Parks and Recreation Department, gymnasium, racquetball court, squash court, walking track complete with cardio equipment, and a weight room. Our facility has a change room complete with showers and a sauna for members use. The Sioux Lookout Anti Racism Committee and Multi Cultural Youth Centre have office space at the far end of our building.

Culture, Parks and Recreation Department Office

Welcome! Our staff would be happy to show you around our facility and tell you about the many things going on here! Our front desk is staffed 7 days a week from 6:30 am - 10:00 pm weekdays and 9 am - 9 pm weekends.

Our department includes a Director of Public Services, Assistant Administrator, Programs, Facility Caretaker, Assistant Facility Caretakers and Receptionists.

Conference Centre Meeting Rooms

The Recreation Centre boasts two meeting rooms available for your use. Meeting Room 1, the smaller of the two, will comfortably accommodate from 6 - 40 participants. Meeting Room 2 comes equipped with a full kitchen including a fridge, stove and microwave.

Meeting rooms can be set up to your specifications and we have a variety of A/V equipment for your use including overhead projector, TV & VCR, flip charts and a blackboard. Our front desk staff will be happy to take messages for you and coffee pots can be made available for your use as well.

Our Martial Arts room is ideal for a variety of activities including Karate & Self Defense Classes.

Rental rates are available upon request, and will vary based on the type of activity you are planning.

Gymnasium

Our full sized gym is available for drop in use or for rental. Sport equipment is available for patrons.

Squash Court & Racquetball Court

Book your court for a game of racquetba3ll or squash. Equipment is available for rent at the front desk. Eye guards are mandatory. Day Rates and Monthly or Yearly membership are available.

Walking Track

Trying to keep in shape? No matter what the weather, our indoor track will suit your needs. Cardiovascular equipment including steppers and stationary bikes are available for you use as well.

Weight room

The combination of universal, peck deck, and hack squat machines, along with the large selection of free weights, makes the Center's weight room a top-notch facility.
