The Municipality of Sioux Lookout invites applications for the position of:
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES STUDENT TECH
The Municipality is seeking applications for the position of Student Tech in our Development Services Department. Reporting to the Manager of Development Services, the Student Tech will obtain site data in support of the Municipality's Geographical Information System, assist in the completion of civil inspections; engineering design as required; AutoCAD Drafting; and ESRI Mapping and Plotting. This position represents an excellent opportunity to experience real-world employment in the field of civil engineering / GIS while enjoying the benefits and serene beauty of Northwestern Ontario during the summer months.
Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are prerequisites with preference given to students currently enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Degree, or related program. The ability to work collaboratively with the Development Services staff is also required. Previous survey and/or construction related experience is an asset.
- The Municipality offers a competitive student wage of $13.00/hour
- Minimum 35 hour work week
- Overtime and vacation pay in accordance with the Employment Standards Act
