Municipality of Sioux Lookout

The Memorial Arena is 190 feet by 85 feet, with a seating capacity of approximately 800 persons. Five dressing rooms supplement the main arena, along with a Music Room & Referee Room.

Every fall, local organizations prepare for their upcoming ice season in the Memorial Arena. Sioux Lookout has an active Minor Hockey Association, Figure Skating Club, Commercial Hockey League and Oldtimer's Hockey League. Our local high schools have teams that compete in our area. Schools include skating and ice sports into their curriculum to give all students in the area exposure to skating. Our department schedules public skating times weekly. Individuals and groups wishing to book ice are encouraged to contact the Recreation Centre office.

A variety of tournaments, competitions and a carnival are held at our facility yearly.

Public Skating

Open to all ages, our Public Skating times are:

• Friday from 7pm to 9 pm
• Saturday 6 pm to 8 pm
• Sunday 2 pm to 4 pm

Parent and Tot skating is held:

• Monday's from 10 - 11 am
• Wednesday's from 9 - 10 am

Noon Hour skating is also available from 12 -1 pm on Tuesday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's.

Pay 'n Play (shinny hockey) is offered are various times during the day.

The lobby provides a perfect viewing area for the on ice activities. The concession is operated by the Minor Hockey Association with a variety of items on their menu.

The Memorial Arena is used throughout the year. Once the ice is out a variety of programs and special events take place. These include, ball hockey, roller blade hockey, indoor soccer, socials, dances and a Trade Fair.

Prices for the arena vary depending on the activity and time of year.
